Mini Dehumidifiers for Fireproof Safes

If you are going to invest around $200 in a quality fireproof safe such as the SentrySafe DS3410 then you need to take note of its interior humidity build up. This is nothing to worry about as long as you understand this will happen with all safes no matter how much you bought them for or how special they claim to be.

When you place all your valuables in this air-tight box and leave it closed for weeks at a time then it is inevitable that there will be a gradual build up of humidity inside. All fireproof safe user manuals have a section describing the importance of airing out the interior of the safe. To do this all you need to do is open the door every two weeks and allow air to get inside the safe.

Of course, not all of us have time to remember this so the next best thing to do would be to invest in a good quality mini dehumidifier. Place it inside the safe and allow it to do its job.
